The wind energy is converted to other useful forms such as electricity and is known as energy power. A wind turbine is, wind energy equipment, use to convert wind energy into these forms. Wind energy can be converted into electrical energy by the use of an electrical generator. Windmills had engines that are use to generate energy using wind.
The wind energy is usually used in rural and agricultural areas for grinding, pumping, hammering and various farm needs. Today, wind energy is used in wind farms to provide electricity to rural areas. A wind farm is a group of wind turbines in the same location used for production of electric power. Wind Energy is practical in places where the wind speed is 10 mph or more.
Wind turbines are used to generate electricity from the kinetic power of the wind. Wind turbines can be used to generate large amounts of electricity in wind farms both aground and offshore as wind speeds increase, turbine output increases and the amount of power from the utility is decreased. With the increase of petroleum and gas prices wind energy may be the answer to this global warming crisis.
Wind energy is renewable and that makes it advantageous. Wind energy is widely distributed, cheap, and it also reduces toxic gas emissions, which is very beneficial to the environment. Wind Power is also advantageous over traditional methods of creating energy for it is cheaper to produce wind energy. Also, wind energy does not produce pollution. |
